Earthcraft Recognition - Press Release

Local design/build team Shelter Alternatives has received recognition from Earthcraft Virginia for certification of two recently completed homes in the area, one achieving the highest Earthcraft Platinum level of performance. EarthCraft Virginia is a regional green building certification program endorsed by the Home Builders Association of Virginia.

Shelter Alternatives, Inc. has committed to building all their homes to Energy Star and Earthcraft standards. These technical certification programs require builders to address issues of energy efficiency, sustainable use of resources, indoor air quality, and homeowner education. One of the homes ranked 51% better than current home energy code requires, the other ranked 36% better, so the new homeowners can expect lower than average utility bills, higher resale value, and greater comfort in these quality custom homes.
