Press Release: Recent Certifications

March 25, 2011

Local design build team at Shelter Alternatives, Inc. of Blacksburg achieves two new certifications from the National Association of Homebuilders. Chris Hudson, long time designer for the company recently has earned the Certified Aging in Place Specialist (CAPS) designation, and owner Ed Tuchler now holds a Certified Green Professional (CGP) title. Both took classes offered by the Roanoke Regional Home Builders Association to complete the coursework required.

"This knowledge existed in our company before, but the courses helped us "sharpen our saw" with these particular skills. Our clients can now be sure they have chosen a team that really understands the particulars of 21st century building and design," according to Tuchler, who has worked with the company for over two decades.
